Michel Legrand «The Umbrellas of Cherbourg»

A concert not to be missed this spring: a legendary French musician Michel LEGRAND together with simphonic orchestra “CONCORD ORCHESTRA” present the program ”The Umbrellas of Cherbourg”.

Michel LEGRAND can be called a musical genius of our time. He is a composer, conductor, arranger, jazz pianist, and occasionally a singer. He has won 3 Oscars out of 13 nominations, 5 Grammys, and many other remarkable awards. He has worked with the biggest stars, composed unforgettable soundracks to over 200 movies, and written the scores for acclaimed musicals. Everything, touched by Maestro, has achieved success, both critical and commercial, and has reached the hearts of people all over the world.

In March 2018, Michel Legrand will perform 4 concerts with symphonic orchestra “CONCORD ORCHESTRA”:

• the 2nd of March at Big Concert Hall “Oktyabrsky”, Saint-Petersburg

• the 3rd of March at State Kremlin Palace, Moscow

• the 4th of March at “Event-Hall”, Voronezh

• the 6th of March at Samara Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre.

The special concert program by Michel LEGRAND will include his own best-known compositions as well as the arrangements of great compositions of French cinema and the ones for Barbra Streisand. Love, passion and drama of life are revealed in Michel LEGRAND’s incredible music, which has a power to motivate and inspire.

70 musicians of “CONCORD ORCHESTRA” take part at the concerts. Together with Maestro, they will perform the program “The Umbrellas of Cherbourg” – a true present for all lovers of beautiful music.

An interesting fact – during these concerts the permanent conductor of ”CONCORD ORCHESTRA” Italian Fabio PIROLA will give way to the great French musician. Maestro Michel LEGRAND will conduct the orchestra himself!
